Kathy Chia-Fu Weng

Violin, viola, piano

Kathy is passionate about teaching, and playing and creating music. Her biggest goal is to help her students explore the meaning of music in their own lives.

She completed her Bachelor’s (2016) and Master’s degrees (2018) in violin performance at The Juilliard School, and recently finished the concertmaster track program (2019) at San Francisco Conservatory of Music. While in San Francisco, Kathy also taught at Presidio Middle School Orchestra as orchestra coach. She speaks both Mandarin Chinese and English, and she has helped students who require English-Chinese translations in their lessons. 

Having received a classical piano and violin training from a very young age, Kathy believes in the power of music education. She has seen and experienced how music can not only strengthen one’s own creative and artistic skills, but also deeply connect communities. As a teacher, Kathy is dedicated to each student’s individual artistic skills, and she desires to develop the whole musician and artist.
