Chelsea LaJoye

Chelsea is excited to be joining New Cottage Arts! Over the past several years, she has been teaching choir and music classes in schools, and private lessons. She has students ages 5-adult, learning many musical styles: classical, musical theatre, a cappella, songs of faith, songwriter, pop and folk. She enjoys working individually with students to meet their specific goals, and always learning and having fun!
Chelsea earned her bachelor’s in music education from Calvin College and her master’s in vocal performance from Colorado State University. She has enjoyed performing as a soloist and with choirs touring around the world, from The Philippines to South Africa and France. She has sung roles in musical theatre and opera productions and given several solo recitals. Besides performing, Chelsea loves connecting with the students in her community. In each interaction, she hopes to foster a lifelong love of music and singing, as her teachers have all done for her.
